Matthew 4:19
19 And He *said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Where were you when you heard the call to “follow Me”? I was in a forest preserve in Illinois when the Lord made His voice known to me. I suppose it was some time after that when I began to understand the seriousness of the call and began to prepare myself. Of course I had lots of help with excellent pastors and teachers that disciples me and taught me many of the things that I need to know to serve the Lord. Since then, I have learned that being a disciple is not a one time thing that you can go to Bible school for, but is a lifelong quest. Every day you need to seek the Lord and ask where it is that you do. “Follow Me” is something that you need to listen for every morning. Where should I go? Who should I speak to? What Bible verse should I study? It’s a never ending task until He calls us home, but is rewarding when you see all the marvelous things that He does. I’ve been places and done things that I could never have imagined because I decided to follow Him. It’s an adventure and I’m glad I heard His voice. It’s not always easy, but it’s always rewarding. So listen for His voice, and go when he says “Follow me”.
